Stephanie Surwillo
Interior Designer

“In design one must always consider the balance of form versus function. In residential design projects form and function should play an equal part.  When approaching a new design project I like to interview my client thoroughly to determine what makes them unique. Then I can use that information to design a space that will be both pleasing to the eye as well as functional to that clients needs.”

Stephanie Surwillo had an interest in design from a very young age. She would tag along with her father when he would visit job sites or browse local real estate.  Her favorite weekend activity was a trip to the hardware store where she could dream of all the different homes she would one day help create.

Stephanie was formally educated at CSU Chico where she sat on the ASID student board.
While in school Stephanie had the opportunity to study Italian Architecture and Design through a study abroad program. “From the ruins of Pompeii and Herculeum to the arched ceilings of the Duomo Cathedral to the more modern Italian architecture, it was like looking through time and seeing a history of design right before my eyes.”

She began her professional career in 2005 working for a well known model home design company. In her two years at the firm Stephanie worked on over 40 homes in varying capacities. In 2007 Stephanie left Chico for a job with the Design Galleria to follow her dreams in residential design. Her diverse and exciting background has prepared Stephanie well, with experience in both modern and traditional design.

Stephanie specializes in the following:
• Space planning
• Custom wall finishes
• Custom draperies and bedding
• Selection of fine furnishings
